Coulee View August CSA Deliveries

Hi,

We are planning to deliver CSA shares on Sunday, August 21st.  Here is our planned schedule.

2 to 2:30 in Platteville
3:45 to 4:15 at the PdQ (by Star Cinema) in Fitchburg
4:30 to 4:45 in Madison in the Vilas Neighborhood
5 to 5:15 in Madison at Willy & Brearly
7 to 7:15 at the BP in Deerfield
7:45 to 8 at the PDQ in Fitchburg (2nd Chance)
    * Note that we made an early deliver to Hartland on 7/28 for the Aug shares there.

I'll be in our white Ford Focus.  If I find my cell, I'll have it with me (608-306-1465).  If not, I'll have to borrow either 608-412-0076 or 608-412-4247

Please reply to let me know which location that you will meet us at this month  Please reply this month even if you are a regular as I've been making some alleged improvements to my CSA fullfillment spreadsheet and I'm afraid I might have lost information.

Soap!  In an effort to use the whole hog we have started making home made lard soap.  Using lard and tallow is the traditional way to make soap.  Our fist batch turned out good, but could lather better so I will be adjusting future batches.  If you would like to try soap from this first batch we are selling this at the introductory price of $1 per bar.  The size of the bars vary widely from about 1 to 3 oz because they were cut freehand.  If yo are interested in trying soap from our first batch, let us know and we bring some for you.

Lard.  The first of the apples are in season so let the pie making begin and the best crusts use lard.  We have unrendered and home rendered lard available.  Unrendered leaf lard is available in a 5 lb bag for $12.  Unrendered back lard is $8 for a 5 lb bag.  Our rendered lard is available frozen in 1 cup container for $3 or a 4 cup container for $8.  Let us know if you are interested in this in which case we can bring it with your regular CSA delivery.
