Hi everyone,
May has been very busy.
- We planted a small number of Chestnut trees in a row in our field to begin a slow conversion to an allycrop permaculture system. We have other planting experiments (cherry, apricot, gooseberry, blackberry, rhubarb, chives and potatoes) in the row between the chestnut trees.
- Keeping up with the hogs. We have a clover cover crop in our field that will be plowed under soon. Our hogs love the clover and they eat it fast. We have been moving the hogs daily to try to keep up.
- Kylie and Drew have been running High School and Middle School track. They both did great and Kylie went to sectionals as a Freshman in the 300m low hurdles.
- Our farmer's market season has begun so we are in LaCrosse on Friday nights and Prairie du Chien on Saturday mornings. Come see us if you are in the area.
With all that going on, we are finally getting our May CSA planned. It will be on Thursday, May 30th. Times will be posted soon.
Also note that we are planning to deliver the June CSAs on 6/13 or 6/14.
Thanks!
